Archidona Zambra Morisca (Moorish Market and Festival)

For three days, Archidona’s Plaza Ochavada and Calle Nueva turn into “Medina Arxiduna”, a recreation of the town’s Moorish past. Stallholders in period dress sell spices, textiles and crafts from an Arab souk, while the streets fill with musicians, storytellers and performers in costume.

The programme runs alongside the market: falconry displays, fire shows and hands-on craft workshops for children, plus tastings of Andalusi-style food. Much of it is free to wander through, and the old town’s narrow streets and Plaza Ochavada’s arcaded square give the setting a head start on the medieval feel.
