The Carmen Thyssen Museum holds Spanish and international 19th-century painting, with a strong run of Andalusian and Costa del Sol scenes, alongside a programme of temporary exhibitions. The permanent collection and any current shows are free to visit every Sunday afternoon.
The museum is housed in a restored 16th-century palace on Plaza Carmen Thyssen, just off Calle Compañía in the old town.
