La Concepción Botanical Garden Free Sundays

La Concepción is a 19th-century botanical garden on the northern edge of the city, laid out by a British-Spanish family who planted it with palms, bamboo, ficus and tropical species collected over generations. Paths wind past ponds, waterfalls and a small Roman archaeological site. Free entry runs every Sunday, though closing time shifts through the year, so check ahead if visiting late in the day.
