Royal Fair of August (Real Feria de Agosto)

Antequera’s biggest week of the year runs as two fairs at once: a daytime fair through the streets of the centre, with stalls, sherry and dancing, and a separate night fair in Parque del Norte with fairground rides, live music and casetas open until late. Bullfights, costume contests and the porra antequerana cook-off all run alongside it, so it’s worth checking the day-by-day programme.
